hailwood site down - Anonymous - 10-08-2004

Any body know why the famous Mike-the-Bike website is down...
and also the Hailwood Lodge site ??

Check <A HREF="http://www.mikethebike.com">www.mikethebike.com</A>
and <A HREF="http://www.hailwoodlodege.com">www.hailwoodlodege.com</A>

Is it off full time or is there a problem.

Don't know about that, but I hear on the grapevine that Pauline Hailwood and Ducati have contributed a very large sum to the Riders for Life organisation. If this is true, maybe it marks the end of their litigation? I hope this is the case and that good relations have been restored. Also, it would be so appropriate for such good work to be done in Mike's name.

But is this the reason the sites have folded, if folded they have ???

It was a very good nostalgic site with some wonderful pics and information.

A site which should be accessible by his millions
of fans.

My understanding was that it was to be built into THE Hailwood online museum...all others out!

Re: hailwood site down - Anonymous - 10-08-2004

I was about to suggest you contact David Hailwood to ask, but I realise the email address I have is a mikethebike.com one, so it will be gone too?

Re: hailwood site down - Anonymous - 10-08-2004

When I last spoke to Pauline she was changing the host for the site from America to a Spanish company. Should have gone with Malcolm!

Just when you least expect it. The Spanish Intenet Provider.

Thank you for your responses.....both e-mail and other ways..

I have also heard that the idea was to change servers but it seems to be taking a very LONG time..

"Mikethebike"s website is a pure dose of nostalgia and I immediately missed it when going for a "wander" through the allied sites recently.

Any idea when it coming back, BILL ?
