Road works expected to increase ahead of events next year

Work to make the roads around the TT Course and Billown fit for racing will be required ahead of events planned for 2022, according to the enterprise minister.

Laurence Skelly says two years without road racing on the Island means normal maintenance hasn't happened.

The surfaces have to be passed as fit for hosting the meetings and safety standards.

Mr Skelly points to the current state of Glencrutchery Road as an example:

I was thinking the other day about the condition of the course.
Apart from the above mentioned maintenance work do you think it will be 'greener' than normal after two years with no racing?
