Desert Grand prix - Anonymous - 07-10-2004 What was the logic in running a GP in the middle of the desert with no spectators 120 degree heat where probably the only mode of transport most people have seen is a camel? Re: Desert Grand prix - Anonymous - 07-10-2004 Money..... Re: Desert Grand prix - Anonymous - 07-10-2004 The silly part of this race in the desert was that the sand/dust on the circuit meant that the so called "purple groove" was the only safe racing line! Daft I call it..... Mike (MV) Re: Desert Grand prix - Anonymous - 07-10-2004 Funny I thought the same thing while watching this GP......no spectators ! At least the riders didn't get mobbed for once ! Re: Desert Grand prix - Anonymous - 08-10-2004 It was the "Deserted Grand Prix". Can't help noticing empty stands in the Moto and F1 GPs recently but perhaps people are staying home to watch on TV because admission prices are pretty steep I hear. That is one thing they can't complain about at the TT it is absolutely free for the best racing in the world and it is not on the TV. It might cost you a few bob to get there though. |
