All island speed limit - Anonymous - 08-11-2004 Thought this might be of interest...... http://www.iomonline.co.im/ViewArticle2.aspx?SectionID=870&ArticleID=884166 Eddy Richardson Re: All island speed limit - Anonymous - 08-11-2004 Sensible decision but reading between the lines the ball is now in all drivers and riders court.Obviously if there is no improvement then the matter will be revisited which any sensible government minister must do so do'nt let a few spoil it for many Re: All island speed limit - Anonymous - 09-11-2004 This would appear to be a victory for common sense. Now, can WE the visitor, respect what has happened? "They" DID listen! I believe it is now up to us, the TT regular visitors to show that we can be trusted. Hmmm, tall order? I would like to think that the majority will respect the limits wher they apply. But, there is always that looney minority. So, how can we help to get the message across? The Island has allowed us to carry on riding fast where it is safe to do so. We owe the people of the Island (and some politicians in particular) to show we can respect THEIR roads and villages. Perhaps someone should institute a road safety campaign aimed at the TT visitor. But it needs to almost come FROM the responsible majority. Any ideas anyone? Mike (MV) |
