Well done to Pat Burgess in particular.I imagine Bill is pottering about bike shops or meeting up with Don Simons! Re: Well done, Pat & co - Anonymous - 23-03-2005 Yes an excellent result ! Funny I was just looking at flights to Melbourne! Re: Well done, Pat & co - Anonymous - 23-03-2005 No, No Gail...there's no real road racing there any more! Re: Well done, Pat & co - Anonymous - 24-03-2005 Unfortunately Bill is in Melbourne which is 1680 km away from Brisbane. Make sure you knock before you enter next time you go to Laxey. Re: Well done, Pat & co - Anonymous - 25-03-2005 The paper only gave half the story. In the Ladies 50m prone match Pat finished 11th in her first true International, beating quite a few Commonwealth aces to boot. Not for for an old bird who first picked a rifle up at the age of 60! (she never reads this site - I hope!). Now in New Zealand; no wonder they produce a crop of TT winners, the roads are great practice grounds! Get off the ferry at Picton, then turn right up the hill!!! Fabulous, but probably a lot better on two wheels than in a campervan! Down in wet and windy Invercargill tonight, then making our way up the west coast later this week. What's the Easter weather like back home? Re: Well done, Pat & co - Anonymous - 29-03-2005 HI Bill The Easter weather was wonderful as its does, nice and sunny it was on the IOM ! Apparantly miserable at East Fortune ! Yes better racing weather at Andreas ! Enjoy the rest of the holiday and tell Pat, EXCELLENT B****ly EXCELLENT ! Re: Well done, Pat & co - Anonymous - 31-03-2005 Will do. Weather still terrible here, marooned on South Island as the boat will not run in a 6 metre swell - sound familar? Went to Tram Road, Christchurch where Russell Wright and Robert Burns broke the motorcycle speed records on a Vincent exactly 50 years and a day ago. Yep, missed the celebrations by a day! Nice plaque there presented by the local VOC section. Also the next road where the Britten also broke records. Met Harry Ruffell who produced One Man's Dream and also visited the grave of John Britten, the leader of an incredible bunch of guys who made the fabulous v-twin. |
