All loading finished by close of play friday 27th. 5 am saturday set off for Liverpool. You know the rest!! Woo hoo!! Mike Vickers (MV Re: Busy few days! - Anonymous - 17-05-2005 Yes, it's a lovely feeling knowing that after a quick sea journey we'll all be on the Island again..very soon............... Not sure about the lashings though !! Expecting rough seas ??? naw ! Anything happening with the get-together while we are at the TT Which venue ? Might I recommend the SWAN in Parliament Square ?? Re: Busy few days! - Anonymous - 17-05-2005 The Swan? Now THAT is a good idea. Personally, I favour the Sulby Glen, but I would, woudnt I? Trouble is, folk are so spread around for an evening meet! Pubs in an estate in Douglas are abit tricky. Ah well, we will see! Mike Re: Busy few days! - Anonymous - 17-05-2005 are we going to have a meet up then?will be over from 28th till 5th see you all there Re: Busy few days! - Anonymous - 17-05-2005 Maybe we need more than one meet...I will be over from 3rd, and based, as usual at the bottom of Bray. The Cat suits me, but not some of you, Sulby Glen would be perfect (well, it would wouldn't it, Rosie!) except I have no transport..Sunday is iusually my day for there, but not Mad Sunday, thanks! How about a fav Douglas place, or out on a limb here...the Sidings in Castletown..accessible, and REAL ALES? Re: Meeting Place get-together - Anonymous - 17-05-2005 If not the Swan, and you all want Douglas, how about something at the Onchan end ? We need to decide fairly sharpish I guess. I had to miss meeting you all last year cos I had to go off island and then return. Let's do it this year Re: Meeting Place get-together - Anonymous - 17-05-2005 yes, it's a highlight of my visit to meet some of you. how about somewhere with food, too...I like my dinner!! Re: Busy few days! - Anonymous - 17-05-2005 Enjoy your time at the TT Mike and good luck on Sat. Re: Meeting Place get-together - Anonymous - 18-05-2005 I for one would love to be able to meet SOMEWHERE. Getting to Douglas from Sulby is not impossible and I guess I can rely on the ever supportive pamela to drive me home. If we cant make it the Sulby Glen ( and I do hope we can !) then let me know about the alternative. Practice week prefered but not essential. By the way, I couldnt FINF the Cat pub....! At least the Sulby Glen is easy to spot and, mmm, those rib eye steaks! Mike Re: Busy few days! - Anonymous - 18-05-2005 Thanks for that! Mike Re: Meeting Place get-together - Anonymous - 18-05-2005 I just thought, if we plan a Sulby meet, it COULD be a late lunch and linger job.....? That way, people who travel from Douglas can go back in daylught. Just a thought Mike Re: Busy few days! - Anonymous - 18-05-2005 Mike no problem but i had to say this 'WHO IS THE MANAGER OF THE YEAR? go on give it to em on Sat and dont do the belly dancing when you beat the whingers. Re: Meeting Place get-together - Anonymous - 18-05-2005 A friend of mine and race official, Colin Delaney, is visiting the TT for the first time and I told him of your get togethers. He will be staying at Mona something or other at Douglas and it would be great if he could get to meet some of you. Let's know if you plan a meeting. Thanks. Re: Meeting Place get-together - Anonymous - 19-05-2005 Give him my email address, and I will email you my mobile number and where I will be staying so he can get in touch. It will be lovely to meet him. Re: Busy few days!- riding in the wet??!! - Anonymous - 19-05-2005 I had to ride my back in the rain this morning? Bit of a culture shock for me! As a self confessed fair weather rider, imagine my bewilderment when I had to ride my bike in for a brake service, in the rain!! Yuk. There is another thing thats changed.. PAYING for brakes to be serviced! Not getting any younger!! So, are we any neraer to a meeting place? I am still hoping for the Sulby but wil see what folk come up with. If somebody decides Onchan, there is alwasy the Mines. Incidentally, are we atalking practice week? Mike (MV) |
