Who's gonna win at the Manx - Anonymous - 16-08-2005

I would be interested to hear anybodies thoughts on possible winners for this years Manx.........

No, I am not a bookie but is it as wide open as suggested ?????

Re: Who's gonna win at the Manx - Anonymous - 16-08-2005

Brian Spooner 250, Chris Palmer Classic 500, Senior Ian Pattinson.

Re: Who's gonna win at the Manx - Anonymous - 16-08-2005

John Burrows, Seamus Greene and Kenny McCrea, maybe not all winners, but potential podium placing--- i hope!!
Bottom line, Safe and successful race for everyone.

Re: Who's gonna win at the Manx - Anonymous - 16-08-2005

I'd go along with that also Baylon, should be some cracking races.

Re: Who's gonna win at the Manx - Anonymous - 17-08-2005

I think the TT boys will be strong in the classic races. Wouldn't rule out Roy Richardson, Alan Oversby and John Loder though.

Re: Who's gonna win at the Manx - Anonymous - 17-08-2005

Alan is quick, but he's got to learn to knock 500rpm off the top end, if the last two years are anything to go by . . . . . . . .

Re: Who's gonna win at the Manx - Anonymous - 18-08-2005

yeh, alan does need to nurse the machine a bit, but i could imagine chris palmer and richard britton having similar problems.

I was just trying to make the point that the TT guys aren't gonna breeze it because theres enough quality riders there to make their lives difficult. Personally I think Richardson on that honda should be favorite.

Re: Who's gonna win at the Manx - Anonymous - 18-08-2005

I think Chris Palmer will be hard to beat in the Classic Races. Good bikes, good rider and his style and stature should suit four laps of the Mountain Circuit on the fickle Classic machines. Could be the first year a Honda win's the Senior Race though - Roy Richardson and Adrian McFarland should be there or thereabouts.

In the main modern races, I can't see anyone other than Pattinson, Greene, Burrows or Jackson actually taking a win, but the likes of McCrea, Atkinson, McGuire, Fulton, Sells, Charnock and the rest won't be far away.

Barry Davidson has to be the clear favourite for the 250cc class. It's about time the lap record was beaten in this class too - it's six years old now.

In the Ultra Lightweight, Paul Corrin has to be the man to beat, but Classic ace Oversby is entered here and after a good showing at the Southern 100 might be a dark horse.

Looking forward to it all getting underway on Saturday. Best of luck to all involved.

Paul

Pattinson,Jackson,Davidson,
Palmer,Oversby

Re: Who's gonna win at the Manx - Anonymous - 18-08-2005

I forgot Paul Corrin..reckon that race will be him or Oversby, maybe even Taubman if his bike keeps going!

Oh..and I wouldnt rule out Crumpton on the 350 in the classic !

Re: Who's gonna win at the Manx - Anonymous - 18-08-2005

Some fella called Cawte to be the first 125 home!

Re: Who's gonna win at the Manx - Anonymous - 18-08-2005

It was stated in todays Independent that of the
slower 125's, Tony Cawte was the only one who
can mix it with the faster 400 4 strokes !

And how much more horsepower have the 400's over the 125's ! Even Tony has problems getting away from them, for them only to go past again on the straight, very frustrating !

Tony favourite for 125 win
Oversby for 400 outsider
Ian Pattinson & Alan Jackson joint fav for Senior
Barry Davison 250 Gavin Bell close !

Carolynn to go faster
Elle ton up lap

Good Luck everyone !

Re: Who's gonna win at the Manx - Anonymous - 20-08-2005

Most of the fast 400's that Ive seen on the dyno at the Manx give 76+hp, thats 250 power. It never fails to amaze me how a 400 can be classed as an "Ultra Lightweight" when, at the TT, theyre classed as "Lightweight 400's".

Good luck to everybody whose riding, no matter what class youre in.
