The end of the world - Don Simons - 12-11-2005 No more horse sh*t on the promenade. The castle is falling down. Murrays is closing. Global warming. Bird flu. AIDS. SARS. Morning practice ended. No more two strokes. No real racing machines. National speed limit on the Island. Not enough marshals. Quarterbridge pub to close. The chippy on the hill has changed hands. Tony's souvenire shop has closed. Australians have bought the ferry service. The suits are moving in. Roadwork changes to the Mountain Course. Oh woe woe and lack-a-day. The Sky is falling said Chiken Licken, but nobody listened. I think I will just end it all and leap off the Fairey Bridge next time I come over to see the oldest and the best roadracing in the world. Cheer up everyone it is not all over yet. "My pessimism extends to the point of even suspecting the sincerity of other pessimists". The JOey Dunlop Foundation Fund, which will soon make it possible for the disabled fans to come to the TT and MGP, as well as other visitors wishing to see the island. and tonight is the dinner and raffle for this fund, so if you bought a ticket you could be the lucky winner for the CBRR 600 HONDA - thewitch - 12-11-2005 Wish I could be there, but I know you'll collect my bike for me! Txt me the winner? - Hilary M - 12-11-2005 We must not forget John Foster's (& Jill) superb brunches when we are all over on the rock.Who needs racing with all that food? But, cheer up, Don. Remember the words of that great philosopher, Charlie Brown - "It can't be the end of the world. It's already tomorrow in Australia!" I've got my tickets for tonight's raffle - good luck to all! Cheers, Harry - thewitch - 12-11-2005 Of course, Harry...I have competition for that bike, don't I? Hmmm...spells are needed, or is that cheating? I am hoping to have a txt telling me the winner later. Helen - tonight's raffle - Harry - 12-11-2005 Helen - I'll make you a deal. If I win the bike I will sell it to you a very friendly price, pay for my trip to the TT and make a donation back to the Foundation. How's that for a deal? And , yes! Spells would be cheating LOL!! Cheer, Harry - Chris Maybury - 13-11-2005 What about the rare mixture of tattooed, hairy bikers  and the nice ladies of "TT Teas" fame. Surely something not to be missed. |
