Clay Reggazoni - ian huntly - 16-12-2006

We wake this morning to the news of the death of Clay Reggazoni, having succumbed to injuries sustained in a car crash yeaterday.

Clay was the racing driver whose life was saved by Mike Hailwood, who pulled Clay from a burning racing car, for which act Mike received his GM.

Very sad. A terrible couple of weeks.

Times - ian huntly - 21-12-2006

The "Times" did an extensive obituary about Clay but never mentioned that he had been saved by Mike Hailwood...............

I read and noticed that Ian.Just show they do not research their news too well as it will allways stand out as one of the most heroic actions to occur in the racing world, and the award of the GM confirms this.

I was also disappoited at the negative opinions expressed about his refusal to lie down to his disability. some of these car guys are total fascists!

- ade! - 21-12-2006

rather ironic [if irony is the right word?] that clay was killed in a road accident with a truck - and so was the man who saved him! co-incidental? help me out with a word to describe this event, as grey matter is kaput these days.
cheers, ade!
p.s. thanx for the crimbo card helen Big Grin

I think Don would say co-incidence, and, in fact the circumstances are entirely different. I understand that Clay may have taken ill, and that he drove into the back of a truck.

helen, trust me, a truck wether you hit it or it hits you, it fkn hurts - boy it hurts. but there again some of us can laugh about it afterwards, some are not as lucky as me. don't mean to sound facetious, cause i don't mean it like that - just a wierd co-incidence. forgive the spelling, i'm tatered, been up since 4-30 [this morning Big Grin ]
