Early morning practice update - thewitch - 01-03-2007

TTwebsite has provisionally booked a 49seater bus for a 6am start on Friday June 1st at 6.00am, from the Grandstand. Some of you have already expressed an interest, but I need you to confirm this, and for others to join us, to keep the ticket cost down.
Commentary on the course, with informed chat will be by Cargo and Nick Jefferies... with a couple of other possible guests for all or part of the trip.
There will be an onboard quiz ... a question at every milestone until we reach the Sulby, where breakfast will be available for all those who wish it. (Sumptuous prize!)
Following that we will move on to finish our leisurely lap, with some items to auction on the way, and perhaps a stop to take photos against the famous Taubman Street sign in ramsey etc. Finishing up at the Grandstand at 1.00pm, from where some may wish to carry on to lunch at the Manor or some other suitable eatery/watering hole.
We need definite numbers fairly quickly, so please post or contact me by pm or email. All provisional until we get firm numbers.

Please put me on your list, I am a definite, thank you.....

Surely 6am is a bit late, we used to get up at 5am if I remember rightly, just as the sweet dawn was breaking and before the birds woke up........

Then it was all mayhem !!

- thewitch - 31-03-2007

There are still a few seats available, and some of the original bookers have not confirmed.. get in touch, please!

- cargo - 01-04-2007

Exciting update news... we will be having a guest rider on the bus. Edgar Jessop will be joining us at Gorselea.

He has managed to secure a machine, and will also be doing some research on the indiginous Manx wallabies while he is across. He hopes to add another PhD to his long list of qualifications as a result of this work.
If you have seen a wallaby, alive or dead, recently, he wants to know.
Why not join us on the bus, and bring your wallaby with you.
NB. For health and safety reasons all dead wallabies must be in a sealed plastic bag

- MV - 01-04-2007

How wonderful that this idea is to be turned into reality.
Well done helen!!

- PeterCourtney - 01-04-2007

Wouldn't it be nice if this referred to "wannabies" from the interminable 'talent' shows on tele? I would love to put a few of them in sealed plastic bags.........

- cargo - 01-04-2007

There'll be some REAL talent on our bus

and a few no hopers as well Lol Lol

- MV - 01-04-2007

I cant believe that helen...

How did you manage to get Edgar to come??

Surely his work with the Navy in Iran keeps him busy?

I must find a space in my autograph book.

As for the wallabies, they ARE a nuisance and should be seriously culled.

- thewitch - 01-04-2007

He's passionate about the TT, of course, and I suppose, like any other hero serving his country he is entitled to leave.
I think he sees the wallabies more as a resource. He mentioned something about racing, and less harm to the environment with no petroleum based fuel. I hear he has his eye on Gail as a possible works rider. Martin Finnegan's career could be over very soon.

Now hang on a minute - what are the young of wallabies (and kangaroos, come to that) called?
Is this a hidden tribute? 8) 8) 8)

- MV - 01-04-2007

Thats very sharp of you Peter.

Joeys eh?
