Wheres the effing tea tent - beepee - 29-05-2007
Got in from practice looking forward to a yarn and a cuppa only to find no tea tent,run by Rose Hanks and the girls,apparently someone decided it was no longer necessary and there wasn't room for it anyway.
This is another piece of TT tradition being eaten away by the lets get modern brigade and bring in a 'pay for everything 'ethos.
Well heres the news,get the tent back quick,I don't want to pay 90p for a cup of rubbish tea in a very crowded Hailwood centre.The tent was a riders facility and as such should not be interfered with.
I bet no one will own up to scrapping the tent,could it be the DOTL,MMCC,Paul Philips,Signature promotions?

WELL I GUESS YOU MUPPETS HAVE NOT WOKEN UP YET. THERE IS NO PLACE IN THE MODERN SCHEME OF THINGS FOR SUCH NONSENSE THE TEA TENT HAS NO PLACE AT THE BACK OF THE GRANDSTAND IT OCCUPIED VALUABLE REAL ESTATE THAT CAN BE BETTER USED FOR MERCHANDISING AND PROFIT.
WHO WANTS A BUNCH OF WOMEN DISHING UP TEA SOUP AND COFFEE IN AN OLD TENT WRECKING THE MODERN CORPORATE IMAGE OF THE TT. NROTHER IS THEIR A PLACE FOR RIDERS, MRECHANICS ANS SUPOORT PEOPLE LIKR IN THE OLD DAYS HANGING AROUND INVOLVED IN EWXCHANGING FRIENDLY CHAT.
HEY GUYS THIS IOS THE MODERN TT YOUR ONLY ALLOWED TO CONGREGATE IN A BLACK TIE, IF YOUR FACE FITS. WHO WANTS THE GANG FROM ERDINGTON PROVIDING THE REFRESHMENTS AND HOSPITALITY VENUE.
I GUESS YOU HAVE SEEN THE LAST OF THE 'LADIES HAVEN' ONE OF THE NOST PIPULAR AND WELCOME THINGS AT THE TT THAT 'ALL' RIDERS' AND SUPPORT PEOPLE ENJOYED AND APPRECIATED BOTH AT THE END OF PRACTICE AND RACES.
THERE YOU COULD ENJOY GOOD COMPANY LOUNGE AROUMD ON THE GRASS AND EXCHANGE GOOD BANTER RUB SHOULDERS WITH GREATEST, THE TRADE BARONS AND SPONSORS, STAND IN A LINE WITHE THE LIKES OF HAILWOOD, REDMOND. PASOLINI ETC AND THEY WOUND TURN ROUND WITH A SUGAR BOWL AND SPOON AND STIR YOUR DRINK.
THE HANKS GANG PRODUCED SOME OF THE MOST FAMOUS AND GENUINE SUPPORT FOR THE TT RIDERS AND THE PUNTERS THE FAMOUS LADIES HAVE, TT SUPPORTERS CLUND AND FREDS TT SPECIAL. THE MODERN HIGH TECH INFO PALES INTO INSIGNICANCE ALONG SIDE FREDS AND HIS TEAMS.
A SAD DAY INDEED EE THE TEA TENT GO.

A GREAT PLACE TO HANG OUT IF THE RACE WAS DELAYED, OR JUST CHILLING OUT AFTER THE RACE ,TELLING TALES OFF WHAT YOU GOT UP TOO,
PLUS A GREAT PLACE FOR MECHANICS/WIFES ETC TO FEEL COMFY IN, WHILST THERE LOVED ONES ARE OUT ON THE COURSE,
THERE IS BEING UP TO DATE BUT SOME THINGS SHOULDNT BE LOST, AND THIS IS ONE OF THEM!!

IT IS MENTIONED ON ANOTHER SITE THAT ROSE HANKS AND HER CREW WERE NOT EVEN TOLD THERE WOULD BE NO TENT THIS YEAR AND NEW NOTHING ABOUT IT TILL THEY ARRIVED. NICE.
