Does anyone know Roy Garnett, from Liverpool, who used to race a CR93?

I remember Roy Garnett quite well. I know he came from Liverpool , but thats all I do know about him

It used to be a joy to watch him. He raced a lot up here in Scotland and I knew him quite well, but we lost touch. Love to know how he's doing.

I do believe that he raced in Ireland as well. If you're over at the Manx it may be worth having a word with Pat Wynne as I believe they both come from Liverpool and Im sure Pat will know him.

just had a look in my old Manx programmes. 1977 ( the last year Roy seems to have ridden)it says :-Garnett,Roy,29, single.A rigger from The Wirral, Merseyside.First entered the MGP in 1970. Club, Nantwich. He was entered in the Lt/ wt race, no 79 on a 180 Honda (a bored out CR93)And according to the 1978 programme he didnt finish.Lee Heeson comes from that neck of the woods and I sometimes see Lee at Darley Moor (he's a scrutineer now)so Ill ask him for you.

Thanks Colin. It would be lovely to hear how he is. Thinking of Roy of course is synonymous with thinking of the CR93.
He was always so unassuming and pleasant, and my daughter, now 30+ (but don't let on I told you!)thought he was Santa Claus in his summer colours!
