Brilliant stuff Cargo!
Thank you.
When you see clips like this, you can see the history and what has
changed, very little

  I kept looking out for George Formby

Makes a good publicity clip for IOMSPC day trips TO the IOM Big Grin

Brilliant. Especially as the boat that first took me to the TT is on there!

- thewitch - 20-11-2007

Bring back the Lady of Mann... or even the King Orry!

- sticky - 20-11-2007

Better still...

I'd bet there's plenty enough loot in the Manx exchequer to pay for the full restoration. Get her seaworthy again, base her in Douglas and do round the Island cruises. You'd make a mint.

The old Lady of Mann (1930-1971) is the one I first came on in 1964 8)

There is a thread on here somewhere with pictures of the last Lady of Man as she now is. Working in Greece
They could buy her back again

It hasn't changed much has it? Summerland has been built and then knocked down and the Villa Marina has been knocked down and then built......and that's it. Reminds me of Aberystwyth where I lived for a long while - old Victorian pictures were like modern postcard views - nowt altered!!

- cargo - 20-11-2007

There's been a few more changes than that...........

As I tell anyone within earshot outside the Hilton carpark on a drunken Saturday night............."I remember the Lido"

What about the Villiers ?

I read somewhere tha the Waterloo is to close

- thewitch - 20-11-2007

I saw " Close encounters of the Third Kind" in the cinema in Victoria Street.

- pykey - 22-11-2007

Hey my mate was a bouncer in The Dogs Home Lol Lol

- thewitch - 22-11-2007

For our younger members... Marks and Spencers is there now.

- Bill Snelling - 22-11-2007

Hope someone can resurrect the Midnight Matinee!
I saw On Any Sunday first time in Strand Street, then went for a lap on the way back to the digs.[/img]

- thewitch - 22-11-2007

Oh, don't tempt me... this is how the Early Morning Practice Bus started!

- pykey - 23-11-2007

Yates's was the place for a great drink and you queeded for an Ausie White or red i can still see the big lady putting your cash in the massive till which had a ring every time it opened? i think it became Bushy's after that correct me if i am wrong.
