One can only hope that the non bike riding tourists they are so keen to attract do in fact bring F&M over.

Another thought, funny how the deadline for paying for the ferry has just past.

Re: MGP Cancelled - Official - Anonymous - 03-07-2001

The Steam Racket Co put back the deadline for payment till 15th July so hopefully we wont be out of pocket.
Is the Manx government helping out the tourist industry by paying for cancelled accomodation?????????????

Spoke to the Steam Packet who are giving 100% refunds. Well done them, and hope the fine farming folk will be making some contribution to the others on the Island who they have caused financial hardship to. Let's not forget the nice little earner the farmers are now on to, exporting Manx meat and bloodstock to England.

Re: MGP Cancelled - Official - Anonymous - 05-07-2001

The Isle of Man Steam Packet company actually 'phoned a friend of ours who had paid his money, on Tuesday morning before the official anouncement was made. They wanted to know if he still wanted the booking. They were 99% sure it was to be cancelled. When we 'phoned to change some details over the weekend they told us the payment date had been put back until they knew what was happening. Seems like some companies do think of their customers.
