Xmas Presents and New Year Honours - ian huntly - 29-12-2007 Among my fine collection of presents on Xmas Day from family and friends was the "Island of Speed" DVD of the 1952 Senior TT at which I am pleased to say I was present at the time. In colour, it is a great representaion of the TT in those days and while Norton was all-powerful it was interesting to see close ups of the Earles forked MV ridden by Les Graham, and AJSs and Triumphs, BSAs and Vincents. Not a Jap bike in sight. It sad however to realise that Les was to lose his life riding a similar MV in 1953 ! Obtained by my Mrs from Amulree in double quick time, I add it to all my other 2007 TT DVDs plus the Worlds Fastest Indian..Thanks everybody ... On another note, I congratulate Mr Geddes of the IOM who is in this years Honours List.......... But after reading every name in the paper, I find there is no mention of John McGuinness, James Toseland or any other representative of two-wheeled sport. THIS HAS TO CHANGE !!! Who would you have put forward for New Year Honours ?? Dame Helen Gibson ?? To all of you, Happy New Year, and I hope to see you in 2008 ! - thewitch - 29-12-2007 I think not! She wouldn't thank you for it! How about Roger Hurst MBE/OBE, whatever? |
