Not Again. "Is the TT just to dangerous to carry on". - Wilddog - 04-06-2008 I don't mind people writing whatever they want, but WHY put a question like this on the same page given to the winners of the sidecar B race. Jeez let the people who have worked hard today racing enjoy the rest of the day. http://www.iomtoday.co.im/tt/Crowe-and-Cox-seal-Sidecar.4151326.jp The link to the actual question is http://www.iomtoday.co.im/columns/Is-the-TT-just-too.4145288.jp Who is Richard Allen anyway, I live here and I've never heard of him? This dude has seen the TT twice including this year and he has the gall to ask that old chestnut of a question. It's not like none of us haven't heard it before. I feel that when someone asks this question especially in the likes of the local newspaper I have to reply and hope everyone on here does the same. I hope the TT and MGP go on for many years to come. Never take on the Press - it's always an away match, and you just get kicked off the park (Cargo is familiar with this saying of mine!) Plus - today's paper is tomorrow's chip wrapping. As to Mr Richard Allen, and having seen his mugshot, he's a po-faced know-nothing (as he admits) whose purpose in life is to promote sales for his employers. He'll write about something else next week! RE: Not Again. "Is the TT just to dangerous to carry on". - DCLUCIE - 04-06-2008 Are the paper maybe the next days chip wrapping but the internet is definitely not. I have put something on. RE: Not Again. "Is the TT just to dangerous to carry on". - Wilddog - 04-06-2008 There are lots of things in this push bike racing reporters (Richard Allens) post that worry me, these especially Quote:As a journalist I know that the reality is that at some point over the next few days I or one of my colleagues may have to write about another TT tragedy. They don't have to talk to relatives. Someone should tell him reporters are employed to report the facts not go hassling relatives on any score. Quote:There is one thing I am certain about. If tragedy does strike again, and I'm asked by a grieving relative to explain why the TT should not be banned, I won't have any answer to offer. Why would anyone ask him in the first place? Cyclists have accidents too is he calling for people not to ride them? No. If he doesn't like the motorsport events on the Island, "there's always a boat in the morning". RE: Not Again. RE: Not Again. "Is the TT just to dangerous to carry on". - FC - 05-06-2008 From IONTT.CON How Refreshing & Humorous !! (Oh the quality of modern journalism -isn't it fine!!!!) Just come across a picture slide show on Virgin Media website, entitled "Worlds Scariest / Dangerous Sports" Heres the top 14 contenders....... 1) Bull fighting 2) Rugby 3) Lawn Bowls (WTF ????????..........) 4) Body Building 5) Base Jumping (Now these guys are mad and respect is due---fair play) 6) Formula 1 7) Air Racing 8) Downhill Sking 9) Squash (WTF ????????........) 10) Bull Riding 11) Boxing 12) Ultimate Fighting 13) Cycling (Tour de Fance etc........these guys are the planets most supreme athletes---respect due) 14) Motorcycling Each of these 1) to 14) contains a picture to try and portray the sport mentioned. Photo 14 under motorcycling is this.................a perfect picture of a rider (I think its' Martin Finnegan from a few years ago) at Rhencullen 1 with the front wheel 3 foot clear of the ground and the 30MPH sign in the background of the photo........when hes' doing 140MPH!!!!!!!! Fantastic !! WOW......... Be sure to tell your non-biking colleagues, friends and associates that TT Racing is "officially" safe and show them this list. Thanks to ITV4 for the positive image of biking (across the board) that they are promoting this year. Please long may it continue.
