sammy miller parade lap - ali - 12-06-2008 have a look at these http://photos.tt-2007.com/v/TT/album/album_001/album/ RE: sammy miller parade lap - oggy - 12-06-2008 Great set of pics but how did that happen brakes fail or something? RE: sammy miller parade lap - missbiker - 12-06-2008 ali Wrote:have a look at these Oh dear Hope this doesn't give more ammunition to the ACU when they are reviewing the prohibited/restricted areas imposed this year - I believe they are due to review the situation post-TT. Is Sammy ok? He must be a good age now? RE: sammy miller parade lap - larryd - 12-06-2008 He's bloody lucky that he got further round before hitting the bales than Barry Wood did when he went down the hillside last year in TT practice. RE: sammy miller parade lap - ali - 13-06-2008 i think he is ok, i am sure somebody saw him back at the grandstand later. might have had a few gorse bush splinters. was very lucky RE: sammy miller parade lap - sticky - 13-06-2008 ali Wrote:i think he is ok, i am sure somebody saw him back at the grandstand later. might have had a few gorse bush splinters. I think the last shot shows him walking away. You can always tell a good trials man though - he rode over those bails without taking a dab On a serious note, he hit at an area which has been prohibited as long as I can remember, so hopefully it won't give any more ammo to the H&S weenies RE: sammy miller parade lap - Mr B - 13-06-2008 oggy Wrote:Great set of pics but how did that happen brakes fail or something? No, just an over-enthusiastic approach, apparently. He really should be more careful at his age, but...once a racer, always a racer! I had a conversation with Percy Tait recently, he says he daren't take part in these parades 'cos he knows he'd get carried away. sammy miller parade lap and leap - ian huntly - 13-06-2008 What SUPER pictures..Well done. But I'm glad Sammy didn't suffer any consequences of his ride on the "Wall of Death !" What WAS he doing ??? In "No Limit", a rider does exactly what Sammy did, so is there a re-make of "No Limit" in the pipeline, and who in your opinion would take the parts of George and Florrie ?? I always though Ken Dodd would be involved but I think he is now "unsuitable"... Suggestions please >>>> RE: sammy miller parade lap - Wilddog - 13-06-2008 Awesome photos. RE: sammy miller parade lap - Splashdown - 13-06-2008 Amazing photos. You can bet your bottom Irish dollar that I will be taking the mickey out of Sammy when I next speak to him. Sammy was my manager in the factory Honda trials team in the early seventies, and we shared many moments together, mainly bad, but some good. Ah but he wasn't married to his present wife in those days, he's a smashing bloke nowadays. So relieved that he got away with the up and over. I crashed my TD2B there in the 1975 Manx. Still have the lump in my wrist! RE: sammy miller parade lap - beepee - 13-06-2008 I recall the TM that was controlling last years parade telling me he was berated by Mr.Miller for going to slow......Hm...... RE: sammy miller parade lap - Mr B - 15-06-2008 Saw Sam today, nursing some sore ribs but otherwise okay. Although Mrs M says he's also got an impressively black and swollen pair of b******s! Not surprising, really. RE: sammy miller parade lap - Rocket Man - 16-06-2008 Was Sammy auditioning to join the "Purple Helmets"? A friend of mine who was also in the Ducati parade, had bad luck when the carbruettor of his Hailwood Rep fell off. RE: sammy miller parade lap - boakesey - 18-06-2008 There's some interesting photos of the recovery of Sammy's (borrowed) machine and the damage etc - as well as further info on the Ducati Owners' site: http://www.docgb.org/club_history/TT2008.htm Scroll right down to the bottom of the page for the "Sammy" bit. RE: sammy miller parade lap - thewitch - 18-06-2008 I met him just behind the grandstand the same night, and he still looked a bit shaken, and had a slightly bruised face. I'm sure he was feeling rather secondhand, but he was very lucky (ask Barry Wood). |
