250s? What 250s? - thewitch - 28-06-2008 http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2008/New+600cc+4+stroke+class+to+replace+250cc+from+2011 RE: 250s? What 250s? - crock stock - 28-06-2008 its been coming hasnt it? i cant help thinking that 600cc is too close to 800cc? wouldnt 450cc or something be better.....a shame to see 250s go, always my favourite class in the past but i suppose we must move with the times, makes a more valid case for letting 250s run at the manx with tt riders allowed to race, just as in the classics because thats what they'll soon be RE: 250s? What 250s? - cargo - 29-06-2008 Here's a thought................. assuming that the new 600cc class will be for prototypes then under current rules they will NOT be allowed to race in the Supersport 600 at the TT........... However also under current rules they WILL be allowed to race in the Junior MGP............. RE: 250s? What 250s? - thewitch - 29-06-2008 What ye waitin' for... get on to Tux! RE: 250s? What 250s? - Jeff - 29-06-2008 Cargo. Strange posting. They won't be allowed to be used at many events - WSB, BSB, NW200, UGP etc. Why do people think the TT has different rules to everyone else? The liklihood of one turning up at the Manx is... well. RE: 250s? What 250s? - cargo - 29-06-2008 It was just a casual observation nothing more............ And if I have the money come 2011 there will most definatly be one at the MGP RE: 250s? RE: 250s? What 250s? - maggie - 30-06-2008 There's already at least 4 entered in this year's Junior. First 2 home in last year's Junior came 31st and 40th out of 95 finishers. RE: 250s? The diference in the rules is that the TT does NOT allow any kind of protoype into the 600 Supersports race.............. or the Superbike for that matter At the Manx GP if it is a 600 then it's ok............proper racing And yes 250 are allowed into the Junior Manx as well RE: 250s? What 250s? - crock stock - 30-06-2008 so can formula xtreme bikes race in the junior manx? i suspect that this new gp series will be even more '1-off' than those bikes but it'l be interesting RE: 250s? What 250s? - cargo - 30-06-2008 crock stock Wrote:so can formula xtreme bikes race in the junior manx? In a word yes The rules for the Junior Manx GP as copied from the regs Race 4 JUNIOR RACE 201cc – 250cc 2 stroke 2 cylinder 550cc – 600cc 4 stroke 4 cylinder 601cc – 675cc 4 stroke 3 cylinder 651cc – 750cc 4 stroke 2 cylinder The only other restriction is that tyres must have a moulded thread. NO slicks NO cut slicks NO threaded tyres with cuts You can do absolutely anything you want with your bike so long as it complies with the general rules of construction and is within the capacity limits RE: 250s? What 250s? - marshall2 - 30-06-2008 Cargo, are those displacement limits as stock or final displacement? I.E. Could a bored and stroked (If thats allowed) SV650 run in the 651cc – 750cc 4 stroke 2 cylinder class? RE: 250s? Yes it sure could I'm not so sure if it would be really competitive but if it over 651cc and under 750cc then it would be fine. Doesn't matter what the stock size is nor does it matter what you change bore or stroke just so long as it is 651 - 750 and a 4 stroke twin I would advise that if someone did this they would be almost certain for a post race strip and measure cos if it was 649cc it would NOT be allowed |
