I wonder what the Story here is- most winners of replicas would never part with them.
If it was for charity I could kind of understand it, but seems to be no mention of that.

The most usual reason is to raise money to race again! This one appears to have already been sold by the one who won it, most likely for that reason.
I know a few riders who say the trophy, whatever it be, doesn't matter, it was the effort and the result that counted for them, and that cannot be bought or sold.
