TT past entry help required - dizzydriver - 23-05-2009 I recently purchased a 1976 Kawasaki kh H1 500 2 stroke triple the bike has been modified for racing. I was told it was raced in the TT, i have bike reg, (log bk). I want to restore it to look like it did when it raced but dont know riders name or year it raced. does anybody know if a record of bike reg No's for bikes entered is kept by anyone. The engine runs and is in quit gd condition so hoefully wont take to long to get back on road. any help in finding its history would be much appreciated RE: TT past entry help required - Bill Snelling - 23-05-2009 In the 1976 10-lap Production race (two riders per bike) there were a number of H1s ridden. Tom Christian / Dave Harrison - Manx - 40th Roger Sutcliffe / Ronnie Russell - Manx - retired Gerry Mateer / Joe Lindsay - Irish pairing - retired Asa Moyce / Keith Buckley - UK pairing - retired Phil Carpenter / Gordon Pantall - Welsh - retired Pierre Soulas / Alain Terras - French - retired It didn't cover itself in glory that year! We have pictures of all these bikes within FoTTofinders RE: TT past entry help required - dizzydriver - 23-05-2009 thanks bill im trying to find pics RE: TT past entry help required - larryd - 23-05-2009 Any names in the logbook that might provide clues? RE: TT past entry help required - dizzydriver - 25-05-2009 im making progress, my bike is a H1f this was produced in 1975, though i am confused as to why it wasnt registered until 1977 RE: TT past entry help required - cargo - 25-05-2009 There is no reason to register a bike intended for racing. It could well be that it was bought or sponsored brand new as a race bike raced for 2 seasons then registered for road use I've got 3 600s none of them has ever been registered one of them is a 1996 model. I could in theroy get a certificate of newness from Honda and register it now.............. mind you it would'nt be exactly legal to ride it on the road I'd need all the road parts to do that. |
