I regret not. Sonny was here for the Centenary TT all the way from sunny California. He brought with him a super photo album chronicling his riding career, but no shots from the TT! The machine was a bit fragile, he resorted to trying to use scooter pistons machined at Quayside Engineering, Douglas - anyone remember Frank Buttimore? but a ring peg came out so he did not get to qualify.

I will keep looking!

This little exercise has proved that this site is still active,

I have had replies on the site plus a number of e-mails with photo attachments.

To those who responded, thank you, you have helped me greatly.

Bill,

Yes, I remember Frank, a lot of riders and teams have a lot to thank Frank and his Quayside engineering business for. Ducati Meccanica and Sports motor cycles used him a lot in 78 & 79, I used him when I was with Ducati UK / Tony Rutter racing, 81 thru 85. I even found Barry Symonds Honda UK there one day!.
