Keith Heckles R.I.P. - Bill Snelling - 23-01-2010
Sad to report the passing of Keith Heckles. Keith rode the Manx from 1959 to 1967; his best result was second in the 1966 Junior. He finished second in the 1967 Production 500 TT on a Velocette.
I am sure there will be many of Keith's friends who can pay a fuller tribute to him.

This is sad news indeed i used assist Keith in the 60'S at Darley he was probably the only rider i knew at the time and i send my condolences to his family and friends RIP Keith.

Very sad and unexpected news indeed as Keith was so active with his Beart Manx Norton. I am shocked RIP Keith and condolences to family and friends

How very sad, condolences to family and friends. Only got to know Keith in 2001, what a gentleman and credit to our sport. RIP.

My goodness, what a loss, what a shock. Chatting to Mike Steel today, (Mike has one of Keith's Bearts), and he said that Keith had just had a check up in the last few days, and was passed fit.
Enthusiasts like Keith are impossible to replace. Add the fact that he was a real gentleman, and would travel anywhere in the UK to give talks about his beloved sport, and you begin to realise the void that cannot be filled. His Liverpool gatherings were always popular and well supported, a measure of the respect in which he was held by fellow motorcycle racers.
My sympathy to his family, I am so very sorry to hear this news.
