Tributes are being paid to one of the best-known TT marshals the Island has ever had.

Roger Hurst died at the weekend after a short illness.

He had been involved with marshalling for more than 30 years and was a former chief marshal and head of the TT Marshals' Association.

Chairman of the association Terry Holmes says Roger's involvement with racing went back decades:

Roger and I went back a good number of years.

I am greatly saddened by his death. He put so much into the TT and will be remembered for his contribution to safety and organisation. He spent a lot of time to get things right and as Malcolm says he was one of the best Marshals the TT has ever had.

My sincere condolences to all of his family and friends.....

Roger was a gentleman and a friend, he will be greatly missed by everybody.

John chapter 14 verse 2. In my fathers house are many rooms. If it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.
