Mountain road will be one way for TT 2010 - Malcolm - 28-05-2010 Mountain road will be one way for TT 2010 THE one-way traffic system from Ramsey Hairpin to the Creg Ny Baa will again be implemented for TT 2010. The system was introduced in 2007 to improve public safety and reduce the likelihood of head-on collisions on the Mountain Road during the busy TT fortnight. The road will be actively policed 24-hours-a-day during this period, and hazard points - the Hairpin, Waterworks, Bungalow, Keppel Gate and Creg Ny Baa - will be coned off. Motorists and riders are reminded during this time it is still illegal to cross the centre solid white line. The Mountain Road will close at 10am on Saturday, May 29, reopening later that day as a one-way southbound road. Then on Monday, June 14, the road will close at 10am and reopen later that day as a two-way road. All cones and signs will be removed from the road before race and practice sessions and the Mountain Road will close early to facilitate this. On practice days the road will close one hour earlier than the rest of the course and on race days 30 minutes earlier. The road will remain closed after the practices and racing to allow for the cones to be replaced. The timings of traffic signals in Onchan will be altered to accommodate the heavier than normal traffic flow on the Laxey to Ramsey coast road. The Mountain Road between Creg-ny-Baa and Douglas will remain two-way.
