Hi All,
Just a quick note to let you know that the ride went ahead and we completed the lap, despite the mountain road being closed because of snow and ice until about an hour before we started the climb.
Snow on the mountain at The Bungalow
We had 6 riders on the day and set off just before 09:00 only to have 2 punctures within the first 2 miles. We progressed well until Ian, in the orange jacket, had his chain snap 7 miles into the ride.
Thankfully we were able to fix all our problems and completed the ride arriving at Braddan Bridge House at 15:45
If I had to describe the day in a few words it would be, “Cold & Exhausting” You have to wear light clothing or you would get too hot on the uphill sections but you then get no protection on the downhill parts.
In total we rode for over 50 miles, including to and from the ferry terminal and spent 7 hours in the saddle.
Have a look at our Facebook page,
