Poor weather during the final qualifying session for the Vauxhall International North West 200 on Thursday left grid positions largely unchanged from Tuesday.

Alastair Seeley failed to qualify for the Supersport and Superbike races on Tuesday after machine issues and the heavy rain on Thursday left him struggling for a fast time.

A stewards meeting following qualifying ruled that Seeley will start the Superbike races on Saturday from the second row in Group B and also allocated the Kawasaki rider a row four start in the second wave for the Supersport class.

Michael Dunlop starts on pole on his Honda TT Legends machine in the Superbike class, with John McGuinness on the HM Plant/Padgett’s Honda taking the top spot in the Supersport category.

Seeley qualified fastest for the Superstock races on his MSS Kawasaki, while Jeremy McWilliams put the KMR Kawasaki on pole for the Supertwin class ahead of team-mate Michael Rutter.
