Jenny Tinmouth continued where she left off when the British Superbike season reconvened at Snetterton last weekend, recording her best finishes of the year so far, with two 17th places, in the 3rd round of the British Championship. Yet another personal best lap time has meant the season has continued its upward curve as the team ready themselves for the annual trip to Scotland to the Knockhill Circuit in 2 weeks time.

After Jenny's record breaking round at Snetterton last year the team had high hopes at what is one of the fastest circuits on the calendar. They had also fitted a new tank over the short break between rounds and they were keen to see how this would improve the weight distribution and handling of the bike. Once the initial set up issues, that plagued FP1, were resolved the team were not to be disappointed and Jenny posted personal best lap times on her way to qualifying in 25th place.

An uncharacteristic slow start followed shortly by the safety car, on lap 1 of Race 1, left Jenny with some work to do but as the race progressed her lap times kept improving and once passed a back marker she continued to catch the riders in front eventually finishing in 17th position and posting her quickest lap of the race on the last lap.

Race 2 was a much closer affair and after a good start Jenny continued to post quick times and again kept the pace consistent for the whole race, passing GGH/Stel Suzuki's Aaron Zanotti on the last lap to record her second 17th place of the day and a new, much improved, personal best lap time beating her previous record by nearly 2 seconds.

"I have really enjoyed this weekend, the new tank has made a huge difference to the handling of the bike and once we sorted the set up it made the power so much more usable. It has been a great weekend for us, as a team,we are moving 100% in the right direction and I cannot wait to get to Knockhill."

Crew Chief Steve Bradley said;

"Having had the engine improvements for the last round it is great to finally have the new tank fitted too as this helps with the weight distribution and in turn improves the handling of the bike making the increased powerband so much more manageable. This shows in the lap times and gives not only the rider more confidence but the team too. Confidence is high throughout the team and as has been the norm so far this season the next round cannot come soon enough for us."


The next round of the Championship is at Knockhill 27th-29th June with qualifying and all races being shown live on British Eurosport.
