What Bikes Used to Sound Like
Here is a link to a Honda Website that has nearly all of their early years of racing motorcycle soundbites listed. (Plus lots of others).

For those of you too young to know what a Honda 6 (RC166), sounded like, have a play around and imagine what those machines blasting around the mountain circuit sounded like.

For those of you who can remember them, ooh the nostalgia ........

For lovers of the Honda 6 this link is amazing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d3hdDgFMrQ it's  bit long and in Japanese but just for the sounds at the begining is worth a look. It shows a complete strip down of the bike, wow!

When those 6 cylinder replicas were made the company given the job of casting the crankcases couldn't figure out how Honda had made them with the technical methods and machinery available to Honda in those days, the little jewel carbs always amaze me when seen in scale.

That conrod looks like a single piece 2-stroke rod with no end cap, putting the separate crankpins and flywheels together would have been very tricky as well.
