TEAM MANAGER NEILL LOOKING FOR SOME CADWELL MOUNTAIN MAGIC
Cadwell Park is an iconic venue on the British Superbike calendar and this weekend Tyco BMW will be hoping to make it a memorable eighth round for all three riders in the Superbike and Superstock 1000cc classes.
Last time out at Thruxton, both BSB riders Tommy Bridewell and Michael Laverty, moved themselves and their BMW Motorrad machinery into the all important top six Showdown positions.
This weekend both riders will be looking to consolidate their top six spots with quality performances at the Lincolnshire venue, and in the National 1000cc Superstock class, Alastair Seeley will be gunning for his third consecutive win to close the gap on the top of the table.
Team Manager Philip Neill said:
“Thruxton was a strange sort of weekend, where at times we looked to struggle, but despite our early concerns and Tommy’s race one excursion through no fault of his own – we find ourselves in the top six coming into Cadwell Park after some hard work and gutsy rides from the boys.
“Both Tommy and Michael know what is expected of them this weekend on our Tyco BMW S1000RRs, but with only five races left before the Showdown cut-off, a certain amount of caution must be taken and any silly mistakes must be eliminated.
“We have again taken a step forward in terms of development with the BMW Motorrad machinery, so that should be a major confidence booster for both, and in Alastair Seeley – as we expected – we are very much back in contention in the Superstock 1000 class.
“It may not be Alastair’s favourite circuit of the year, but the last time he won here at Cadwell Park for TAS Racing, we went on to lift the Superstock title. It is a notoriously difficult circuit to pass on, so qualifying well is of paramount importance for all three riders, but I have every confidence that we can come away from this weekend in a stronger position than going in.”
