Motorhome Parking
Hi, As we are getting too old to camp we are trying our motorhome for the first time. We are going to try a bit of a TT tour staying different places each night, can anyone suggest places to park for one night. Public carparks are fine especially Ramsay, Port erin, and does anyone know if you can stay all night on the parking field behind St Ninians Church . Many Thanks.

RE: Motorhome Parking
Dear O/C you are one of the lucky ones who can choose one of many places to stay for one night or more for very little outlay.
Ramsey's Mooragh park is a select spot for nice motorhomes but will cost you the price of a Camping permit (Admin fee only which is for £16 ) this can be bought from the town hall in Ramsey square.( Limited facilities)

also a permit for the Sulby Claddaghs at Sulby Glen a great spot between Sulby crossroads and Ginger hall  will cost you £16 for the season (Toilets/hot water/chemical toilet disposal/ No showers)

Alternatives are provided you are self contained you can stay on selected parts of the  wild life sanctuary on the north of the island for no more than 3 days/nights at any one time.

If you follow the Pre TT classic races you can camp FOC at  Castletown FC provided you support the refreshment outlet during the races ( and any donations are most welcome ) also you could pull up opposite the start and finish and camp for the duration of the races ( once again provided you are self contained other than race days ) also if you prefere to be where the action is you may like to camp in the pre TT paddock which has toilets/showers as well as a swimming pool near by.

I must give a big shout out for my favourite location for Camping with a Campervan which has to be Kirkmichael FC towards the beach beyond the village,,,,,,,it was just great to hear the church bell toll each and every morning....

BTW,,,,you will also find many of the beaches are deserted at all times of the day and they also tend to have some sort of hard standing which can be a perfect spot to spend the night if you are in the mood to chill out and adapt to island time.
