Hi all
I am after pictures or even video of Trevor Nations No 5 bike from the 1988 NW 200 and TT to help with my restorations of my Norton Rotary race bike restorations.
I have confirmed my Rc/rcw was Trevor Nations 1988 TT bike and pics from the 88 tt, especially of the bike static or been worked on would be help full.
The attached photo below shows the Simons Buckmastes bike that he raced at the NW 200, and I strongly suspect Trevors bike is my own Rc588 that also may have been used at the Nw 200. the center bike is one of the first four frames and different to the other two. The number 5 and 12 bikes have frames that were very short lived the engine was raised slightly and chain alignment improved, by the 1988 TT the frames were redesigned again raising the engine at the front still further.
I am also after finding the photographer of the group Photo taken in April/May 1988 proberly befor the north west event.
Regards Wayne
Below is my own 1988 Rc588 I am restoring in a comparison with the no 5 bike in the above picture, if you look carful at the above picture you will notice the gap in the frame box sections by the yokes is wider on the 33 bike, ie the engine is lower.
The forground Rcw in the picture below at jurby last year on thr Rotary Owners Club stand is the no 12 bike in the group picture when it was a Rc588, this bike was used by Simon at the 1988 NW200. In 1989 Norton built it as a rcw for imperial tobacco as a cost of £16K. The bike behind is my own Rc/rcw Trevor rode in the 1988 tt. converted by Norton to Rcw spec now been restord by me.
If any one can help with pictures of Trevor Nation on the Rc588 or the No5 bike on its own at the 1988 North West 200 or at he 1988tt email me on wayne.tolson@yahoo.com
