does anybody know if there are any 250cc square 4 Suzuki from the sixties still running Jack Ahearn and I think Frank Perris rode them its puzzled me for a while wondering what happened to them.
I was only looking at an article this morning, dated June 1964. In addition to Perris and Ahearn, they were ridden by Bert Schneider and Hugh Anderson, though I don't think Hugh rode them very often.
They were christened "whispering death", by Ahearn.
I would imagine that Suzuki have one or two tucked away in their museum.
I would have thought that they were miniature RG500s.
Hi splashdown yeah I suppose suzuki have got a couple in there musuem it would be nice to hear them running again, l forgot Bert Schneider rode one as well didn know Hugh Anderson rode one a very fast bike if i remember but a bit fragile.
Suzuki had a load of old racing machinery at their Centenary of Competing year, there was defo a square 4 cyl 125cc on show, i'll go through my pics and see if I snapped the 250cc.
A bit off topic. I have a picture from the paddock in Isle of Man 2007, the Centenary TT. It's a 250 V-four. As far as I know the factory destroyed all the old racing machines and this one is a replica I believe. The model is called RD05A and that model was raced in the middle 60s. Well I know that this is a Yamaha but still it's 250 four!
Don't be that optimistic! The light in the tunnel can be a train.
