Linfoot leads warm up as Dixon crashes out at Oulton Park

Dan Linfoot topped the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship warm up session in the final minute this morning at Oulton Park, toppling race one pole-sitter Jake Dixon by 0.436s as he tipped off unhurt at Lodge in the final five minutes.

Shane 'Shakey' Byrne was third fastest on the Be Wiser Ducati, holding off Josh Brookes who will line up alongside each other on the front row for the first Showdown race this afternoon with Leon Haslam on the JG Speedfit Kawasaki completing the top five.

Michael Laverty was the lone McAMS Yamaha on track in sixth place as James Ellison watched from the sidelines, choosing to sit out the wet morning session. Glenn Irwin was seventh fastest on the second of the Be Wiser Ducatis with Tommy Bridewell and Sylvain Guintoli next up.

Jason O'Halloran bounced back from his crash yesterday to finish tenth fastest as he begins his final title fight this afternoon. Peter Hickman was the only  rider in the Showdown six to sit out the morning warm up session.
