RE: More boat cancellations!
I've just realised that they also cancelled the 14:15 hrs this afternoon from Heysham!
That means the boat we're on tomorrow afternoon will now try & fit 3 boatsworth of people on it?
Have I got that right???
Confused

RE: More boat cancellations!
That makes sorry reading.

Take heart those who are on the mainland, I've been here since Monday morning at 6am and not seen any action.

I did get a good run out and a lap on Tuesday though.

Fingers crossed you all get over.... If you feel it's worth the effort. Forecast isn't the best for the remainder of the event neither.

Monday looking ropey now. I think the winds are set to drop though, which should put the ferry schedule back on.

Also, I think the manxman is set to be back in service over the next day or two, which should sort the ferry deficit. If the Ben and mm are both running, they could catch it all up.

Good luck all. You're not missing much though.

RE: More boat cancellations!
Thanks matey, I can't see them running both boats (but I hope they do!), I don't think they could muster 2 sets of staff!
The other thing I thought is, what happens to all the consumable stuff! i.e. the Ben wasn't taking passengers so wouldn't have had anything in the shop, any food &,  most importantly. the bar wouldn't have been stocked!!  Confused Icon_biggrin
Have they transferred everything?
Will they carry it all back to Manxman tomorrow & then back again next week when it goes into drydock?
With a bit of luck I'll find out this afternoon!

RE: More boat cancellations!
We were due to travel on this morning's (Thursday's) 03:15 sailing on the Manannan from Liverpool which was cancelled, now we're on tomorrow's 04:00 Manannan sailing. I can't really complain as the weather conditions are dire, sadly both here and on the Island. I really feel for the competitors and their teams, particularly the small teams, to have been over there probably since last week with barely any TT Course action is truly grim. We competed at both the Manx and CTT and also experienced many weather derived practice and race delays and cancellations following the ban on racing on damp or wet roads, but nothing on this scale. Fingers crossed for all those already on the Island and for those endeavouring to get there, best wishes to you all (including me)!

Indeed! 14:15hrs,
Bens just set off from Douglas on time, so it should be OK, gonna be rammed full tho' with 3 boats worth of people!!! Think there'll be quite a few disappointed people at heysham again today.

Arrow left Heysham at one o'clock for Douglas so she hopefully will relieve the freight pressure and make space for tourists on whichever car ferry.

Hope all goes well.

In my days on ferries, minor knock against the key was met by a couple of mattresses from cabins, timber and quick setting concrete and off we'd go again. I suppose health and safety is better??

Fingers crossed! the Ben seems to be making good time coming over, maybe different going back against the wind!
I'll sign off now, &, as at TT, you may not hear from me for a while, the old iPhone 5 isn't the best thing for internet related malarkey!
All have a good & safe time!
Bon Voyage!
