Yes, that was 1955 !
Unfortunately the timekeepers made an error in conversion and it was not until 1957 that Bob Mac did the ton in an EIGHT LAP Senior..
Yes, it was EIGHT laps long in that year,
(only because the TT was 50 years old of course !)

So how many laps can you do in 2007 then ??

Then there was Mike Hailwood (MV) in 1965, crashing at Sarahs Cottage and going on to win in awful weather conditions....

I was at the bottom of Bray Hill on that day, what excitement in the crowd when the commentator said that duke had done the magic ton lap.

Not related to the TT but I think it was 1955 when Geoff Duke came to Australia. We had headed off for our annual holiday and father had to return to Sydney mid holiday in the old '37 Chev to watch him race. In those days it was nearly a 3 hour trip over mountains to get back home. People thought him absolutely stupid but one would have crawled over broken glass in Australia to see the mighty Duke. I met up with Geoff in 1995 and got his pic and autograph for my dad, just to complete the scene.

1975 is the first year in the 5s for me in 65 was only three . I remember 75 well , as a sidecar fan it was the last win on a four stroke for the great Shauzu on his BMW in the 1000cc class & the first win for a two stroke with Ralph Stienhausen winning on the 500cc Konig , both bikes a work of art , the sound of the BMW could never be bettered ,Stienhausens Konig was tiny & you felt you could pick it up with one hand . I also remember me & my cousin where at thursday afternoon practice at the QB when we should have been at school & being caught by our teacher ouch ! The QB was a favourite haunt of ours being close to home within walking distance , cant remeber the year think it may have been 76 but once again we where watching there & the white helmets motorcycle display team where doing there Pyramid when the top man fell over the wall into what is now the access road , broke his leg i think , funny at the time but not for him . Anyway back to 75 , it was also the year Grant broke Hailwoods absolute lap record on the Kawasaki. And the great John Williams won the classic race , he was my hero along with Tom Herron , both tragically cut down in there prime . Great days

Yes Shaun you mention the late John Williams well in the senior race in 1975 John shattered the 500 lap record when he went round at 112.27,unluckily John ran out of fuel at Governers and pushed in to let another brilliant rider the late Tom Herron win but what a lap the lap charts in the programe didnt go that high, brilliant memories.
