Can anyone tell me whether Alan Shepherd ever raced the works Honda's if not did he race any Honda?

Didn't his career end when he crashed whilst testing the Honda's in Japan?

Yes, he was testing, threw it down, or up, the road and the crash decided him to retire.

Thanks for the replies but was when was testing the only time he had rode Honda's and did he ever race one? there's a pint or two on this one.

Pykey, I am pretty positive he never raced one, I spoke to him many years after his accident when he called in to see us in Heswall, he was in a very bad way still as a result of that accident.

We had a chat about MZ and Bultaco two strokes seizing up without warning , I cannot be a 100%, that 25 years or more ago, but I seem to remember him saying after racing the strokers all those years the one time he got an a Honda it finished his brilliant career,=
