Shaun Harris
Shaun has been in touch today to say that he has been thinking hard, and, in the interest of his family, he will not be doing the TT.
His greatest dream was to win a TT, and he did that with flair and panache.
Now his dream is of a future with Fee and Petra, his two beautiful ladies, and the close family they all have. Those of us who met them all at TT 2007 can see why. A really lovely family.
Shaun says"I really want to still race , but want my family more".
I'm sure we all wish Shaun a happy future with them, and I'd like to take the opportunity to express my admiration for his courage and strength of character through all he has had to deal with since May. Added to that... I have never met anyone like Fee.. she is amazing. What on earth will Petra be with that combination of genes.
Come back soon, Shaun... your friends want to see you.
Shaun on the Britten (Thanks Ian H)

I think it must take great courage and strength of character to stop when every fibre is saying "I want to race", and everyone is encouraging you to do so. He's a star, with nothing to prove, just like Steve Hislop when he quit the TT. He said to me at the time "I've had all my lucky breaks" and he never looked back.

Oh, I'm sure we'll think of something else to part you from your hard-earned!
