Motorcyclist dies at Killalane Road Races - Named
As reported by the BBC at approximately 16:20
A motorcyclist has died after a crash at a competition.
The man was racing on Sunday on the Killalane circuit near Skerries, north Dublin, when he came off his bike.
A trackside marshal was also injured in the accident but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A Garda spokesman said the accident happened in a race at 1.20pm and the rider was rushed to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, where he was pronounced dead.
It is understood the biker, from Northern Ireland, was an experienced road racer having also competed in the Isle of Man TT and across Ireland, the UK and Europe.
Organisers called racing off early after a second accident.

R.I.P Victor
original picture/photographer unknown
Victor Gilmore, from Ballymoney, Co Antrim, slipped off his high-powered bike
on the narrow circuit during the Killalane races in north Co Dublin.
He is the second rider to die during a road race in the area this year after Myles Byrne from Knocklyon, south Dublin, was killed during the Skerries 100 in July.
Both events are organised by Loughshinny Motorcycle Club.
In a statement, the club management said: "Sadly he lost his life doing what he loved most. He will be dearly missed by his family, team and road racing family.
"The committee and members of the Loughshinny Motor Cycle Club extend their deepest sympathies to Victor's family and large circle of friends for their sad loss."
Mr Gilmore, 42, has three children Craig, Jodie and Nicole.
He was an experienced rider having competed in the Isle of Man TT, across Ireland, the UK and Europe.
The crash happened in the 600cc race at 1.20pm on Sunday.
A roadside marshal was also injured in the crash which spectators said appeared to happen when the rider's bike slipped underneath him.

RE: Motorcyclist dies at Killalane Road Races - Named
It's very hard to put into words, what many people are feeling at this sad time, however, here is a little note of remembrance that I found, especially for Victor.
Not how did he die, but how did he live?
Not what did he gain, but what did he give?
These are the units to measure the worth
Of a man as a man, regardless of birth.
Not, what was his church, nor what was his creed?
But had he befriended those really in need?
Was he ever ready, with word of good cheer,
To bring back a smile, to banish a tear?
Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say,
But how many were sorry when he passed away.
