HM Plant Honda's Shane 'Shakey' Byrne trails Title Fighter rival Tommy Hill by seven points as the Showdown kicks off this weekend at Donington Park and the former double champion claims they have been formulating a plan of attack as he bids to regain the lead in the standings.

Byrne has a strong history at Donington Park; the last time he raced there he took a clean sweep by claiming the pole position and then he followed it up with a double victory in the races. Byrne is just seven points adrift of title leader Hill ahead of the Showdown, but also only four points ahead of John Hopkins who returns this weekend with the Samsung Crescent Racing Suzuki team so knows the pressure is on for the six Title Fighters in the final three rounds.

Byrne said:

"I am really buzzing about getting to Donington Park and the Showdown now. The HM Plant Honda team have worked hard all season and now we are planning for the final three rounds and formulating our plan of attack! We found some changes at Cadwell Park to make the HM Plant Honda stronger and we have been winning races and on the podium all season so there is no reason why that should change now it is the Showdown. To be champion everyone knows you need to work harder, push harder and myself and the HM Plant Honda team are going to be giving one hundred and ten percent to try and end the season as the 2011 MCE Insurance British Superbike champions."
