Travel to the IOM
Been trying to make a booking to the IOM from any dates between
23 May and 31May return any date after TT only to be told that there is no available space left. Maybe its about time the IOMSP got extra boats if the TT is that Popular.

The TT entries only came out last week and have still to be confirmed, no use having an entry and no way of getting over

Keep phoning...Some bookings made last year for this year sometimes are not followed up, so spaces are released...Don't give up hope !!

Ive been told that there is no possibility of any spare space and not worth going on standby. They also said that they are still trying to find space for those teams at the BSB meeting

RE: Travel to the IOM
we used to leave our vehicles in a secure storage Car Park at the Pier Head, walk onto the ferry and use public transport, taxis, coaches and Horse Trams on the Island......

It used to be great fun !!!!! and good for the waist line !

It would be interesting if someone did this as a journalistic exercise to compare todays gridlocked traffic, shortage of parking space and petrol costs with the older saner ways !!

I did it a few years back and still managed to get about.

You can always find eedjits like me with a car looking for passengers to do the odd lap !

We too are having problems getting a race truck and bikes over for the TT this year, as the team will be racing at another meeting at the beginning of practice week. We have tried to get a booking for any boats from Heysham on the Tuesday but have not been able to. This has now resulted in the bikes now not being available to a rider at the TT, very disappointing to both the rider and the team.

Another suggestion is to try a commercial shipper to ship your bikes, kit, etc...

Cheers..!!!

We can have a spare bike on the Island for the start of practice ( superstock 1000) but the race bikes wont be available until the Tuesday of practice week. The same team will also be at the MGP with 7 newcomers and with spanner men, family and friends will have a party of approx 70 people booked to stay. We Team Netherlands try to promote the IOM as much as we can in Europe, recently at the Dutch Bike show where we had videos of the island and information on how to get to the IOM and places to stay. We have never asked for any help and none has ever been offered. Sometimes I wonder if its all worth the effort to promote the IOM, we also will have riders from Holland, Germany and the Czech republic at the S100.
