20-time T.T. winner John McGuinness has admitted he is struggling with his wrist injury during this morning's North West 200 second practice session.

He broke his right scaphoid while out on his dirt bike in the middle of March.

Speaking to BBC Northern Ireland, he revealed he was getting pain when braking on the Triangle circuit and felt he wasn't able to challenge at the sharp end at the moment.

Another rider recovering from injury has taken two pole positions.

Michael Dunlop powered his BMW Superbike to the front with a late lap of 122.166mph - an unofficial lap record. Second is Michael Rutter ahead of Alastair Seeley. Conor Cummins is 7th, Dan Kneen 17th, Dave Madsen Mygdal 47th and Joe Faragher 55th.

He will also lead the field away in the Superstock class after lapping at 120.098mph followed by Alastair Seeley and Michael Rutter. Conor Cummins was 8th, Dan Kneen - 24th, Joe Faragher - 46th and Dave Madsen Mygdal - 50th.

Alastair Seeley tops the Supersport standings ahead of Michael Rutter and Lee Johnston. Conor Cummins is 11th and Dan Kneen 23rd.

Lee Johnston is on pole for the Supertwins at 107.853mph followed by Keith Amor and Ivan Lintin. Dan Kneen will start from 14th place.

The first three races take place this evening - roads around The Triangle Course close at 5.15pm with the action due to start at 6pm.
