Ryuichi Kiyonari is ready to bounce back from his Cadwell Park disappointment at Donington Park this weekend (5/6/7 September) and he started the event by setting the pace in the opening free practice session by 0.227s from Shane 'Shakey' Byrne.

Kiyonari moved to the top of the times at the mid-point of the session and he continued to up the pace to maintain his position ahead of Byrne as the pair continue their 'War for Four' MCE BSB titles.

Tyco Suzuki hit the top three with John Hopkins as the American consistently held a position at the sharp end of the times throughout the session at the circuit where he scored the double victory in 2011.

Tommy Bridewell was the fastest of the Milwaukee Yamahas in fourth position whilst team-mate Josh Brookes was tenth. Bridewell kicks off the weekend feeling confident after securing his position in the Showdown at the previous round following his debut victory and third place.

Dan Linfoot was fifth fastest as he bids to secure his Showdown position this weekend for the Quattro Plant Kawasaki team. Linfoot ended the session narrowly ahead of Chris Walker who currently holds the crucial sixth place in the standings ahead of Sunday's two races.

Howie Mainwaring fired the second Quattro Plant Kawasaki into the top ten in seventh with a final improvement in the closing stages to push Cadwell Park race winner Peter Hickman to eighth place. Julien Da Costa for the Honda Racing team and Brookes completed the top ten.

Filip Backlund made his debut for the FFX Yamaha team in 16th place, whilst Lloyds British GBmoto Racing Kawasaki's James Ellison made his return in 20th.
