Marc Marquez was the fastest rider on track in MotoGP™ FP3 at the Gran Premio Generali de la Comunitat Valenciana, ahead of Pol Espargaro and Jorge Lorenzo at the top of the timesheet.
Despite a light crash for Repsol Honda’s young World Champion he led the way with a 1’30.950 lap, which put him 0.133s ahead of Monster Yamaha Tech 3’s Espargaro. Movistar Yamaha MotoGP’s Lorenzo was 0.196s down on Marquez.
The top five also featured two Italians, Ducati pair Andrea Iannone (Pramac Racing) and Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team). It was an improved showing from Iannone as he had still looked somewhat impeded by his Sepang injuries on Friday.
The top ten was completed by Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team), Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP), Aleix Espargaro (NGM Forward Racing), Cal Crutchlow (Ducati Team) and Bradley Smith (Monster Yamaha Tech3).
The likes of Stefan Bradl (LCR Honda MotoGP), Yonny Hernandez (Energy T.I. Pramac Racing) and Alvaro Bautista (GO&FUN Honda Gresini) all missed out on automatic Q2 spots and will be looking for a hot lap in Q1.
Qualifying takes place on Saturday afternoon at the Gran Premio Generali de la Comunitat Valenciana following FP4.
