Shane 'Shakey' Byrne set the fastest ever lap of the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit to fire the Be Wiser Ducati to the top of the times in the final free practice session, holding off his closest rivals Dan Linfoot and Josh Brookes ahead of Datatag Qualifying.

The riders switched positions at the top, but as the session reached the closing stages Byrne put in his final run which put him back to the top, giving him the clean sweep in free practice. The second place for Linfoot was his best performance of the season so far as he held off Brookes in third and Christian Iddon in fourth as four different manufacturers completed the top positions.

Peter Hickman dropped to fifth place in the closing stages for the Smiths Racing BMW team, but he still had the slight edge over James Ellison on the leading McAMS Yamaha and Jake Dixon on the RAF Reserves Kawasaki as he overcame his issues from free practice two.

Leon Haslam was eighth fastest with Luke Mossey in ninth following a crash at Druids midway through the session; the championship leader was unhurt but was forced to miss the remainder of the final practice.

Billy McConnell completed the top ten for the Quattro Plant FS-3 Kawasaki team.
