Signing on is now open for aspiring marshals wanting to offer their services for this year’s Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT.
Like the TT in June, the event also requires a minimum manning level of more than 500 marshals to be signed on for races and practices, allowing a continuous line of sight between marshalling posts.
For anyone wanting to sign in on-line, this can be done via the link on the TT Marshals’ Association web site at
http://www.iomttma.com
Forms have also now been sent out to people who have marshalled previously and the association always asks for these to be returned as soon as possible so they have an idea in advance of likely manning levels at different points around the course, including on the mountain, some sections of which can be difficult to cover.
Over the past year, the association has been trialling a new computerised display showing the number of marshals signed up to the different sectors around the course, meaning anyone signing up in the office at the back of the grandstand can see at a glance which areas are short of people.
The association has also been present recruiting at community events, such as Braddan Fun Day.
