Well, I've been waiting for your comments on the "play" about t'Isle o Man with David Jason and his mates..

Made the locals look like pirates, and the "Miss Isle of Man" I went to in those days long ago did not end that way !!!
I generally find the police friendly.....

But was the 1960 TT LIVE on TV ??? I don't think so !! And where was that pub ?(the Admiral Benbow lookalike)

Otherwise, I have mixed opinions..
Nostalgia ? maybe.....
Collectors item? NAW !!!!!
But I have taped it.

The pub was the thatched cottage, "tarted up/down", at Nairbyl,

It was a pile of poo that wouldn't have seen the light of day without David Jason's name behind it.

It was so good-----I fell asleep!!!What a load of s***e.

Yes, it was a shame it was not developed..so much could have been added.
As it was it could have been Berkshire, OOp North or anywhere in the UK..
Sad innit, just when t'Isle of Man could have had better publicity..
I enjoyed the sixties, there was a lot happening in that decade !!

The story was a bit disapointing but it reminded me of the golden days, i think they used the Sefton Hotel in the film but The Welcome Inn were was it?

It was SO disappointing, but what I expected!
The highlight for me was when they arrived at Niarbyl bay and we both said "careful turning your bikes there!" Although, those olde bikes would have been a lot easier than modern ones. Then I spotted that they had turned that old hut into a pub.
There was probaly about 2 minutes worth a look but that was it.
The annoying part was that my Pamela was geting all excited "Oo, I wonder where they will go to camp...?" etc.
As for those locals....well!

I forgot something!
Seeing the guys in the play watching the 1960 TT live on tele(I dont think so!) reminded me of something.
That year, as with others, I joined a bunch of lads sciving in the wash rooms of Heston Aircraft, to listen on the radio!
Memories, eh?
I wonder how many more of you listened like that?

I also have vague memories of another play (many years ago) where the races were being watched from the grandstand. The main characters seemed able to see most of the course! Very clever....
I spose its what they call poetic licnce?
