We have never been there to watch so just wondering. Nowadays there is a grandstand. 
Is there still some free places to watch from there or is everything taken by paid seats?
We prefer just behind a hedge or something?

The best/closest viewing is all free. Plenty of room. The earlier you get there, the closer to the corner. With a minor amount of gymnastics you can get to side of road when roads are closed.

Get to the outside of the course, adjacent to the angled wall top, free and spectacular.

Bit of stream hopping and you're back to the car park,,side road and butty van

The big white bungalow next to the fixed grandstand let's you sit in there garden with just a donation. Good spot raised up from the road. You can nip across the side road to the burger van if you fancy a snack.
