Just sailed home to reality, with great memories of a fantastic week's racing on the Island.
Getting up at 5a.m. to do a few road bike laps is one of life's greatest pleasures, each lap seeming better than the last as surfaces dry and memory banks let throttle openings increase.....
All the time one wonders how racers get around at such phenomenal speeds on their screaming bikes and sidecars!
I suppose having no opposite-travelling traffic helps(!) though some early morning riders seemed to ignore tha fact that it IS a public road, and pass on blind bends!
The STEVE HISLOP MEMORIAL is astounding, a truly beautiful tribute in a glorious setting.
Roll on TT 2006!
