Australian TTXGP Starts This Weekend

The TTXGP will be in full swing this weekend when the Australian division of the series has its first race at the Eastern Creek Raceway.

The TTXGP is divided into three series. The American series and the European series have already had a few races, and now the Australian part of the TTXGP is ready to begin. At the end of the year the top teams from each series will compete to be the TTXGP World Champion.

At the moment, there just isn’t enough money in electric motorcycle racing for teams to tour the world. But the momentum, and the technology, is growing.

The Australian TTXGP just got a big financial boost from EV evangelist Grant Cresswel, the Sydney branch of the Australian Electric Vehicles Association, and Sydney based Accountancy firm, B A Robinson & Associates.

Grant Cresswel, who has been working to improve Australia’s road racing profile, said that electric motorcycle racing is where the technology of the future is being perfected.

"With a limited number of brave entrepreneurs developing their own bikes and a few even daring to commercialise their ideas, the time seemed right to get them out on the race track. Racing has historically always been a great proving ground for testing designs," Cresswell said. "We also recognized that we should partner with TTXGP and make this a world wide series."

The Australian Electric Vehicles Association is also making a big contribution to the sport. The AEVA is matching any donation made to the sport by AEVA members to help Jon Eggenhuizen, the team owner of Catavolt, and Daniel Sailor, of Ripperton Racing.

“We felt it was important to help promote the local EV guys and dispel a few myths about the performance of these machines, these are very competitive bikes,” said Mark Taylor secretary of the AEVA.

The first round of the TTXGP in Australia will be sponsored by B A Robinson & Associates.

"We are proud to be associated with the first Electric Motor bike race in Australia. Technology continues to evolve to enable exciting advances in all forms of life,”
Bruce Robinson said. “With reliance on petroleum based fuels under increasing pressure, the use of electricity to power sport machines is the logical conclusion to a difficult issue. We are confident this is the start of an exciting era in bike racing and we are equally thrilled to be part of it."
Be right back. I am going to go find myself, and if I leave before I get back, make sure to tell me !! -
