The Steam Packet Company have announced that Marshals for the TT and Manx Grand Prix will still be able to get discount on their transport to and from the Island.

They say it will be offering reduced fares for marshals who sign on for both events.

Marshals based on the Island will also be given discount when heading to shows to promote and recruit for the Isle of Man TT Marshals' Association.

Without volunteer marshals, neither the TT nor the Manx Grand Prix would be able to go ahead.

Anybody got any idea how many marshals sign up for the TT AND the Manx ? With the amount of money that the IOM goverment make out of the TT it would be no skin of their noses to pay for the marshals ferry.

I completely agree. Nice for anyone who can afford to take 4 weeks out marshalling and pay for 2 lots of ferries and accommodation at seasonal peak prices to know they'll get a discount on the boats, but really it's pretty slim considering what the Island makes and what it still costs the marshals out of their own pockets.

Extend the offer to cover marshals who do either event, not just both, and then you'll be getting somewhere.
